A New Year

Its time to leave 2008 behind. I was in Korea at the beginning of 2008 reflecting on the accomplishment of finishing college previously in 2007 and looking ahead at what 2008 would bring. For the first time in my life I had many wonderful things. I had a job and was making a steady flow of money that I could use to support my future. I was fortunate to have found the perfect soul mate that as 2008 progressed I knew I had the best match made in heaven. I went home in 2008 to see what had happened while I was gone and unfortunately I didn't find much. I went back to school and thought a lot about building a future around teaching. I will finish eventually with a teaching certificate that I will consider finishing online while I am in Korea. Its very important for me because I want to work my way to a collegiate level teaching job. I came back to Korea less than a couple weeks ago in order to reflect again however I am leaving behind Nostalgia or at least trying.

When I was in Missoula I felt like I had left too soon. I felt like apart of me was needed or at least wanted back in Missoula. My best friend and I drove around one day and we talked about the past and how fun things used to be. Now its faded into a dimming memory at best. I don't want to live in the past in Missoula anymore. I do hope someday to take Christina there and show her the wonderful things of my youth.

Now I am here in 2009 which is only 8 hours away at the current moment. Sometimes I get too excited when thinking about the future. I hope not too much though. I am loving to write again and unfortunately right now thats all there is to do. Busan is quiet for me and according to my boss I should just appreciate the downtime which may end here starting next Monday.

I do want to take on more though this year. I am very purpose driven and want to succeed in my Ultimate Quests no matter what. I don't want to accept Failure as an option. When it comes to work I am looking forward to the challenges that will be presented. I want to take on more work except for Saturday right now just because I want to have the weekends free so I can travel.

Goals of 2009
*Work hard, save a lot of money
* Wear nicer clothes more presentable at work etc.
*meet Christina's family and love them much
* Plan for a wedding
*find a new house
*return to school-America, japan, korea, ??
*show Christina America too

I have a lot of ideas so as 2008 ends I say Thank you for giving me the best present in the world and may 2009 be promising

Ten in Two or Two in Ten

In the last 10 days I have been in 2 Countries. I left the United States 2 Sundays ago and I am now figuring out my new life. I got my baggage and went through customs just like before but this time with a sense of familiarity. I got on the bus in order to meet my associate trainer for my three day orientation program. Unfortunately along the way the bus driver lost my baggage and my ride didn’t pick me up. His wedding anniversary was more important and he couldn’t have scheduled someone else. Instead he made me wander around the streets for 2 hours looking for the Samsung motel where I would stay for my first 3 days in Korea. I was livid. I ended up getting my baggage the next morning at a hotel that was close to the Orientation site. Unfortunately for me if I wasn't so blind and or tired from the plane I could have found YBM easily enough but I walked past it many many times.

Orientation was fun! I was hanging out with mainly British people but also a few other foreigners all of whom were decent folks and a pleasure to have met them. I really hope that I can see them again and hear about their experiences more. After this stint was finished I was given a KTX ticket and headed to Busan where I was to meet up with my gf and also my new job site. KTX is the fastest train in Korea. ITs also pretty fun and I hope to do more train rides in the future

Christmas! That was the best day in Korea because it was the day I was looking forward to seeing all year. My happiness of seeing my gf get off the train was speechless. We had some good food even though I am still getting used to the time difference and we shopped a little. Christina bought me some nice shirts and pants for my job. They look really good on me^^

I got a new phone it’s a pre-paid phone it cost me a total of 100 dollars and I will have to add more on it later so I am saving the minutes right now. Apparently I am really popular at that particular LG center because they invited me over for coffee now whenever they see me. They are the only friends I have here though in my area.
I neglected to mention my physical. I had to undergo a routine medical checkup in order to be officially cleared to work. I also need this in order to get my ALIEN REgistration card. I had my blood pressure checked, X-rays, eyes, ears, and other a piss sample. I passed the drug test. Anyways my ears seem to have a problem. They are a little clogged up or something. They had to clean them. They superimposed me with a big Q tip and dug deeply into my ear. i was shocked because they actually were moving ligaments in my ear and it hurt. I actually felt my ear close up on them. It hurt for a day or two but they pulled out a big chunk in my right ear. I didn't see it but my Adminstrator who was with me told me about it. I was thinking this was a bunch of hogwash. Huey fluey. if you will. I was happy to just return to my apartment and my distrust and loathing of doctors remains. Sometimes I think they are more after tehir doctor fee than actually helping me. Right now I just want them to give good medicine and remedies that will help me or my gf and not care about my ears and how clean or dirty they may or may not be. For the record I take care of myself at least with my ears.
Work looks to be alright. I will have 8 classes a day for the month of January when I will be officially starting. I talked to my boss today to and maybe I wont have the 6:50 am class which means I can sleep in until maybe 7. I hope so.

This past weekend I went to Daegu and met my girlfriend again there. Daegu was always a nice getaway but I hope that we can do more in Busan or Seoul with each other. Daegu is a good place to go shopping and eating only I think. My attitude was poor last time I was in Korea. I realized that when I was thinking about my Korean Time back in the states. I missed some opportunities and should've tried more too.

I am going to plan everything better this time around. I am going to work harder, write more if I can and also make our dreams come true.

On Sunday night I fell asleep on the train on the way back to Busan and was awakened by a passenger as they were all getting off. Busan is the final destination and I think I was the last person off the train. If they didn’t wake me I would have went back to Seoul later that night. The final run. I think that this was so funny because I was really disoriented getting off the station but somehow managed to find my way back home. I wish Christina had been with me.

Since getting back I have just been watching YBM work. I haven't worked at all because I don't start until Friday. I like my supervisor but have heard his boss is a little uptight. I got paid today my 240 for Orientation. I brought 300 in cash, a 600 dollar card and now the 240. I went through the 300 pretty fast but now I am not worried until mid January I think.

Two in Ten Days. Two major Cities Seoul and Busan as well as Daegu. Two major Countries Korea and America and awaiting more
